Still Vertical

"Good morning, Mr. Randy!"

"Well, good morning! Oh hi, pup!" my 80 year old neighbor reached out his hand to my dog, Peanut.

Peanut wagged her tail and let Mr. Randy pet her. 

He was bending down so much, I was afraid he could fall. But he didn't.

"How are you doing, Mr. Randy?"

He took a moment before answering with a smile, "Still vertical. That is all that matters."

Then I took a moment before replying, "I can't agree more."
